Provide clinical and professional leadership alongside key Clinical Leads within the Cairns Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS), helping to shape and deliver innovative, person-centred mental health care. As a valued member of a multidisciplinary team, deliver specialist speech pathology services to children and young people experiencing complex behavioural, emotional, and mental health challenges. Work across community and hospital settings to empower young people and their families.

The Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (MHAODS) plays a vital role in delivering specialist mental health, alcohol and other drug services across the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS), while also supporting neighbouring services throughout Cape York, Torres Strait, and the Northern Peninsula Area. Committed to improving the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities, MHAODS provides a comprehensive continuum of care, including clinical treatment, rehabilitation, disability support, early intervention, prevention, and mental health promotion initiatives. About your role:

In this position you will…..

• Work Collaboratively with Indigenous Mental Health Workers to support first nations consumers.
• Deliver high level speech pathology clinical services (which may include assessment, diagnosis, and case management) in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
• Apply professional judgement to complex cases, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
