POSITION OVERVIEW
The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full-time, non-tenure-eligible Health System Clinician at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor to serve as an Attending Physician in the Division of Allergy & Clinical Immunology. The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.
This role focuses primarily on outpatient care at satellite locations in Chicago and the surrounding area, with an anticipated schedule of eight half-day clinics per week. Although the Division provides inpatient consultative services at Lurie Children’s, hospital consultative coverage is not part of this Health System Clinician position.

- Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver excellent, evidence-based pediatric allergy and immunology care in the outpatient setting.
- Conduct thorough examinations and evaluate the physical and developmental health of newborns, children, and adolescents.
- Assess symptoms, develop informed diagnoses, and create individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and provide clear administration instructions to patients and families.
- Order and interpret appropriate laboratory testing to evaluate infections, immune conditions, and other abnormalities.
- Evaluate and treat injuries and refer patients to other specialists when appropriate.
- Counsel families on nutrition, exercise, preventive care, early detection, and available guideline-based and emerging therapies.
- Maintain complete and current patient records.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other members of the care team.
- Participate in Division meetings and contribute to education, advocacy, and quality care initiatives.
- Provide informal teaching to fellows who participate in clinical care.
- Advocate for patients, families, and colleagues while staying current with advances and best practices in pediatrics and allergy/immunology.
ABOUT THE DIVISION
The Division of Allergy & Immunology includes 13 faculty members, four nurse practitioners, and seven research staff members, including four research nurses. The team provides comprehensive general allergy care as well as coordinated services for children with complex conditions such as primary immunodeficiency, immune-rheumatologic and immune-hematologic diseases, severe asthma, and DiGeorge syndrome.
Division members are actively involved in NIH-funded research in asthma, food allergy, and primary immunodeficiency. The Division also hosts a Jeffrey Modell Center for Primary Immunodeficiency and participates in a combined fellowship program with the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Division of Allergy and Immunology. Faculty benefit from a collaborative environment that includes weekly clinical rounds, immunology chart rounds, and joint research rounds with Northwestern.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The anticipated salary range is $197,000-$255,000 annually. Compensation is aligned with market rates and internal equity and reflects individual experience, expertise, and contributions. The comprehensive rewards package may include:

Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree with specialization in pediatrics
- Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Allergy & Immunology
- Valid Illinois medical license or eligibility for licensure in Illinois
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated passion for pediatric care, education, and advocacy
