We are working with a highly regarded regional healthcare provider in New Zealand's South Island that is seeking an Interventional Radiologist to join its established team. About the Role
Our client is seeking a fellowship-trained or experienced Interventional Radiologist to join a well-established Radiology service serving a population of approximately 310,000 people across the lower South Island.
The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative, friendly and relaxed team of radiologists working within a modern imaging environment supported by MRI, CT, ultrasound, interventional radiology, and a fully integrated RIS/PACS system.
The role offers exposure to a wide variety of interventional procedures including:
- Peripheral vascular interventions
- Biliary drainage and embolisation
- Nephrostomy insertion
- Trauma embolisation
- Tunnelled venous access procedures
- Fistula interventions
There is also flexibility for candidates who wish to maintain a general radiology component alongside their interventional practice.
The department encourages specialists to develop their own interests and supports participation in service development, quality improvement initiatives, multidisciplinary meetings, and teaching activities.
Participation in an after-hours on-call roster is expected and shared equally amongst consultant colleagues.

Requirements
Eligibility
To be considered, applicants should have:
- FRANZCR or an equivalent specialist radiology qualification
- Eligibility for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- Experience or subspecialty training in Interventional Radiology
- The ability to contribute to interventional and on-call rosters
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach to patient care
- An interest in teaching and supporting junior medical staff and trainees
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
