Townsville Hospital and Health Service is seeking a Staff Specialist Psychiatrist to join our Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Service (CAYAS).
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team providing specialist secondary and tertiary mental health services to children, adolescents and young people experiencing severe and complex mental health conditions.
Opportunities exist across community, inpatient and forensic mental health settings, providing exposure to a broad range of presentations and models of care within a large and progressive regional health service.

About the Role
As a Child, Adolescent or Youth Psychiatrist within CAYAS, you will provide specialist psychiatric care and clinical leadership across a range of child, adolescent and youth mental health services.
The role offers opportunities to work within community mental health teams, the Adolescent Inpatient Unit and Day Service (AIUDS), and the North Queensland Adolescent Forensic Mental Health Service (NQAFMHS).
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, recovery-oriented care while contributing to service improvement, teaching, supervision and the ongoing development of high-quality mental health services for children, young people and their families.
About You
You will bring:
- Eligibility for registration as a specialist medical practitioner in Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), or equivalent.
- Substantial and recent clinical experience in psychiatric practice, including Child, Adolescent and/or Youth Psychiatry.
- A commitment to multidisciplinary, recovery-oriented and patient-centred care.
- Strong clinical leadership, communication and collaborative practice skills.
- An interest in teaching, supervision, service development and quality improvement.
