Description
- Clinical Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments using standardized and non-standardized assessment tools.
Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate individualized behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and other evidence-based practices.
Provide direct behavioral treatment and consultation services for patients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, behavioral disorders, neurological conditions, and mental health challenges.
Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBA) and functional analyses when clinically indicated.
Monitor patient progress through systematic data collection, analysis, and outcome measurement.
Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, therapists, nurses, educators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
Provide family-centered services, including caregiver education and support.
Ensure compliance with ethical, professional, and hospital standards of practice.
Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, patient reviews, and treatment planning meetings.Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and accreditation standards.
2. Training and Educational Responsibilities
Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and training to interns, trainees, residents, and students from relevant disciplines.
Develop and deliver educational programs, workshops, seminars, and continuing professional development activities for healthcare professionals.
Train caregivers, teachers, and support staff in behavior management strategies and intervention implementation.
Contribute to competency-based training initiatives within the hospital and affiliated academic programs.
Participate in orientation and professional development activities for new staff members.
Support capacity building in behavioral assessment and intervention across hospital departments.
3. Research Responsibilities
Participate in clinical and academic research projects related to behavioral health, developmental disabilities, rehabilitation, and evidence-based interventions.
Design, conduct, and evaluate research studies in accordance with ethical and regulatory requirements.
Collect, manage, analyze, and interpret research data.
Prepare research reports, manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations for publication and scientific conferences.
Seek opportunities for external and internal research funding and collaborate on grant applications.
Contribute to the development of innovative clinical programs through research and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain compliance with institutional research governance and ethics requirements.
4. Academic Responsibilities
Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities within the university hospital and affiliated academic institutions.
Deliver lectures, tutorials, clinical demonstrations, and practical training sessions.
Participate in curriculum development, educational planning, and assessment activities.
Serve as an academic advisor or mentor for students where assigned.
Participate in academic committees and educational program evaluations.
Support scholarly activities that enhance teaching, learning, and professional practice.
Maintain professional competence through continuous education and engagement in academic activities.
5. Administrative Responsibilities
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely completion of clinical documentation and reports.
Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and hospital-wide initiatives.
Assist in developing and reviewing departmental policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.
Contribute to quality assurance, patient safety, accreditation, and performance improvement activities.
Monitor service outcomes and prepare periodic activity and performance reports.
Assist with resource planning, program development, and service evaluation.
Ensure compliance with hospital regulations, professional standards, and relevant laws and regulations in Oman.
Support strategic planning and operational objectives of the department and university hospital.
Requirements
- Master’s in Psychology (Behavioural Intervention) with 6 years post-certification experience, OR a PhD in Psychology (Behavioural Intervention) with 3 years post-certification experience, focused on children with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
- Specialized training or certification in evidence-based therapeutic approaches (e.g., ABA, CBT, ESDM, or parent-mediated interventions).
- Demonstrated involvement in clinical research and academic activities, with at least one publication in a peer-reviewed journal. - Benefits :
