- Assistant Director of Development
Description
The Assistant Director of Development is an integral member of the Suburban Hospital Foundation and is responsible for securing philanthropic support for Suburban Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine. The Assistant Director will organize and implement strategies for effective relationships with prospects and donors, interact with constituents at all stages of the development cycle, with a focus on the discovery and qualification of prospects to meet fundraising goals and objectives. The Assistant Director will manage a portfolio of annual giving prospects and donors.
Supports donor engagement and fundraising efforts by identifying and cultivating individual donors and grateful patients, in partnership with senior development staff. Conducts outreach and meetings, prepares solicitation materials, and assists with major gift strategies, campaigns, and priority initiatives. Maintains donor records in CRM, supports stewardship and recognition activities, and collaborates across clinical and administrative teams to advance fundraising goals.
Johns Hopkins supports a flexible, hybrid work environment after the initial probationary period and based on job responsibilities. Suburban Hospital Foundation employees work primarily on-site at Suburban Hospital with scheduled WFH opportunities.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum two years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, sales, marketing, or customer relationship management preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
Strong organizational and project management skills
Professional, warm, and donor-centered communication style
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
