Job Summary – Registered Nurse
Definition of Position
The Registered Nurse assesses, prescribes, delegates, coordinates, and evaluates nursing care for assigned patients. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality care by applying the nursing process, following established standards, and adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
Note: Individual departments may require additional certifications or specialized responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the written Nursing Care Plan.
Act as a patient advocate, promoting safety, comfort, and dignity.
Direct and supervise personnel assigned to assist in patient care.
Collaborate with and report to the Unit Nurse Manager or House Supervisor.
Requirements
Qualifications
Education
Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Ongoing continuing education aligned with skill level and practice area.
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Experience
Required:
None.
Preferred:
Previous clinical experience.
Licenses & Certifications
Current RN license.
ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC required.
Additional specialty-specific certifications may be preferred.
Equipment & Tools
Proficiency with medical equipment such as infusion pumps.
Ability to use computers, printers, copiers, and patient charting systems.
Skills
Ability to provide care that supports each patient’s age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial needs.
