Position: Registered Nurse Eagle House (PRTF)
Hourly Rate: $38.00/hour Shift Differentials:
2nd Shift (3 PM 11 PM): +$7.00/hour
3rd Shift (11 PM 7 AM): +$5.00/hour
Shifts Available: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
About Eagle House
Eagle House is a psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) serving children ages 612 who are stepping down from inpatient hospitalization or diverting from it. With an average stay of four months, our two units—Brainard House and Goodwin House—provide stabilization, diagnostic clarity, and a path back to community life.
As a Registered Nurse, you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, clinicians, youth care staff, and two embedded lead nurses. Your work will directly shape a child's healing journey.
What You'll Do
Clinical Care
Complete nursing assessments, interventions, and treatments with skill and compassion.
Monitor physical, emotional, and behavioral health for stabilization.
Conduct nursing intakes and discharges.
Reconcile medications and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
Develop individualized nursing care plans.
Participate actively in rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Ensure compliance with DCF, DPH, and Joint Commission standards.
Provide health and safety education to youth and families.
Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and outpatient providers to ensure holistic care.
Provide cross-coverage within the nursing department as needed.
Administrative & Leadership
Serve as a resource to care teams, helping identify goals and strategies for each child.
Ensure documentation is accurate and compliant.
Oversee Youth Care Assistants and support their development.
Maintain medication carts and emergency supplies.
Collaborate with internal and community healthcare providers.
Deliver in-service training to staff.
Experience and Skills
What You Bring
Education:
Bachelor's in Nursing preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing required.
CPR certification.
Experience & Skills:
Experience in behavioral health strongly preferred.
Ability to work independently, stay organized, and multitask effectively.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Windows; familiarity with Village applications a plus).
Cultural competency and commitment to serving diverse populations.
Ability to safely and therapeutically interact with children and adolescents, including performing physical interventions when required.
