Description
Under the general supervision of the Radiation Therapy Manager and according to established policies and procedures for various age groups of patients, the Radiation Therapist delivers radiation therapy treatments to patients referred for radiation therapy. They render patient treatments utilizing information provided by simulation, dosimetry and the physician’s treatment orders. Keeps treatment records and prepares operational reports as required. Other areas of involvement include, but are not limited to, simulations, calculations, machine operations with efficient use of treatment units and radiation safety, preparing the treatment room, positioning patients and monitoring patients during the procedure. Performs job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiation Therapy.
- Board certified or board-eligible with certification obtained within 6 months required.
- Radiation Therapy Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist. Must hold and maintain current license as required by the State of Florida for Radiation Therapy Technology.
- Must hold and maintain BCLS certification within 6 months of employment.
