- Pediatric Hospitalist Needed in Thriving Southeast Metro!
Description
Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children is seeking two full-time BC/BE pediatric hospitalists to join our team. Our team consists of 9 hospitalists and 11 nurse practitioners and is supported by excellent pediatric sub-specialists.
Our hospitalist group cares for children on the pediatric floor with two teams covering an average daily census of 25-30 patients. Some of the responsibilities of this position include primary management of patients on the pediatric floor as well as consulting and collaborating with pediatric sub-specialists. This position also includes caring for newborns in the well baby nursery, but no delivery attendance is required. Physicians at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children also have the opportunity to teach family medicine residents and medical students from the University of Alabama—Birmingham.
This is a full-time position working approximately 14 shifts per month. Board certification/eligibility in Pediatrics and eligibility for medical licensure in Alabama is required.

Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children is a stand-alone facility dedicated to caring for women, infants, children, and adolescents. Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children is the only one of its kind in the region with a 16-bed Pediatric ER, an 11-bed PICU, and a 40-bed Pediatric Inpatient Unit. We also have a St. Jude Children's Research Hospital clinic for pediatric hematology/oncology.
