Pediatric Ophthalmologist
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, serving the culturally diverse community of Western Queens, is seeking a part time (24 hours per week) board certified/board eligible Pediatric Ophthalmologist to join the growing Division of Ophthalmology at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Elmhurst, New York.
We are seeking a pediatric ophthalmologist with expertise in caring for children and complex pediatric ophthalmology patients in the outpatient clinic setting as well as an interest in teaching. There are a wide variety of opportunities for program development and academic advancement in the areas of general pediatric ophthalmology, quality & safety and medical education. The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.
Candidates must have a MD degree and be board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Ophthalmology and fellowship trained in a related discipline with a valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number. Creative scholarship is also required. Candidates should also have experience in resident education and exemplary patient care, with an emphasis on strabismus. Medical fluency in additional languages is helpful but not a requirement. We offer a faculty appointment with the Icahn School of Medical at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience and qualifications. We also offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package including CME. The base salary for this position is $210,288 and faculty practice distributions throughout the academic year.
