El Paso Children’s Hospital is seeking an accomplished and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide visionary financial leadership for the organization. The CFO will serve as a key member of the hospital’s executive leadership team and will partner closely with the President/CEO, Board of Directors, and administrative leadership to advance the hospital’s mission, vision, values, and long-term strategic objectives.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a proven healthcare finance executive to provide leadership across the full spectrum of hospital financial operations while helping shape the continued growth, financial strength, and sustainability of a specialized pediatric healthcare organization.
Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer provides strategic and visionary leadership for all financial activities of El Paso Children’s Hospital. This executive is responsible for the administration, direction, coordination, and oversight of complex healthcare financial systems, programs, and services.
The CFO will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of long-term financial strategies and operational plans while ensuring financial accountability, transparency, and alignment with the hospital’s strategic priorities.
Working in partnership with the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team, the CFO will provide financial insight and guidance to support informed decision-making, organizational growth, operational excellence, and long-term financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the hospital’s financial operations and resources.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate long-term financial strategies aligned with organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
- Partner with the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team on financial planning, organizational strategy, and business development.
- Provide comprehensive financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and recommendations to support executive and Board-level decision-making.
- Oversee financial operations including revenue cycle, cash flow management, budgeting, financial forecasting, analysis, patient financial services, and related healthcare financial functions.
- Ensure financial operations support the hospital’s mission, vision, values, and commitment to high-quality pediatric care.
- Promote financial accountability and operational performance throughout the organization.
- Evaluate financial opportunities, risks, and trends and develop strategies to strengthen the hospital’s financial position.
- Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, financial requirements, and organizational policies
- Serve as a knowledgeable and effective financial representative of the organization within the healthcare and broader community.
- Collaborate with leaders across the organization to balance staffing, operational needs, profitability, growth, and financial sustainability.
- Build, develop, and maintain a high-performing finance team and foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Navigate the unique financial and operational environment of a nonprofit healthcare organization.
- Communicate complex financial information effectively to clinical, operational, executive, and Board audiences.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Education
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
Experience
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive senior management experience in financial operations within a hospital system or medical center, with complex hospital experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Extensive technical knowledge in all areas of healthcare financial operations, including revenue cycle operations, cash flow, financial forecasting and analysis, patient financial services, information and health information management, etc.

- Ability to apply knowledge of regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
- Welldeveloped interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain teamwork and overall cohesiveness of all hospital staff.
- Proven ability to recruit, train and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.
- Ability to navigate within nonprofit service organizations.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
